Silly string falls out of favor

Sad but true: according to Google Trend results, silly string is not popular with anyone, and is seriously losing out to String Theory.

See the tiny little bit of red graph, in the middle of 2005? Well, that's the silly string result. For some reason, people in Chicago and LA were momentarily excited about silly string, then promptly lost interest.

Meanwhile, people in India and the USA have lost their sense of humor entirely and insist on focusing almost exclusively on String Theory, without any silliness.

Caz, do you know you have a big black line running down your blog?

    Just saying is all.

  2. Mmmmmm, now not sure if your view is any different to mine. I use Firefox, and blog looks as per normal.

If you mean the black border between the left side navigation menus and the blog posts - well, that's ALWAYS been there!

  3. I've no idea what silly string is, but the picture is doing freaky things with the template in Explorer - I think it's because of its size. Maybe if you shrunk it down a little ...

  4. Ah, bum. Will have to see if I can fix it. Yep, the size goes over the normal border, but still works ok in Firefox.

    Thanks for confirming Geoff's comment...

  5. BTW Tim - OMG - you don't know what silly string is?! Really?!

You surely had a deprived childhood. That explains a great deal.

Have resized the graph. Could someome let me know if it's still doing funny-bugger things on Explorer, or now ok. Thx.

  7. I've never played with silly string because when I did find it when I was younger, it was too expensive.

Used to have to do the snot-rocket thing with just plain snot instead :)

    (no wonder I'm single :)
