Have you noticed that the fifth duckling fron the back of the line is in fact a baby chicken? About four days old I would say, though it is difficult to be sure about its gender at this resolution.

There has to be a story there I would say.

  4. Here I was thinking 'black sheep' of the family, and you go and spoil it all.

You have special skills in the age of baby chooks? Seriously?

I'll try to do better with resolution next time, so that you can announce the gender as well.

Um, do you know any of their names, by any chance? Perhaps you've met the mum, in your travels?

Oh I get it now. The reference to the "black sheep". Which was the point of the whole picture really. So all I've done is comment on the bleeding obvious and was actually the in your face punchline of a sight gag, that everybody got except me.

Right.Thank you. As you were. Gee is that the time? Better get going. I'll be off now ....

  6. No, no, really Geoff, it was a small joke, even by blog standards. I should have known it would all go pear-shaped, by *someone* jumping in with technicalities and baby chook knowledge. Should have seen that coming, really ...

    Sorry Caz,

My last post crossed with yours.

Nah I was only joshing. Truth is I know next to nothing about chickens which is why I was so proud of myself when I managed to identify one.

Although I do have an excellent receipe for chicken soup and matzo balls with kneidl which was handed down from my mother who got it from her mother who got it from ...

Problem is it takes about thirty six hours to make and the local council requires we give all the neighbours ten days notice.
