  1. I gather that a good qualification means getting a degree?

  2. BTW speaking of priorities... you upside down folks can celebrate on the 4th of May.

  3. Cubicle - yes, a degree, or several, I would expect, but after I had posted I realised it may not be as pragmatic and cold hearted as it appears at first blush.

Higher qualifications would lead to higher income; both would combine tomake the individual a more attractive marriage prospect, and more able to afford children. So, perhaps they have their priorities exactly right?

Yes, I had noticed that our time will come (twice) on 04 May, but damned if I can work out what I'm supposed to do to celebrate this once in 1000 year occasion. Dance a little jig, will that do?

[FYI to Australian readers: at 1 am and 1 pm on 04 May - at two minutes and three seconds after the hour it will be: 01:02:03 04/05/06...peep, peep, peep.

You'll have to wait 100 years for the next one. Because of incorrect date formatting, the Americans have already celebrated this event, as notified over at Cubicles blog.]

Well Caz, my sister married an austrian who was studying for a degree in civil engineering. AT the time that she met him she thought it was love at first sight. Now 25 years later she has finally faced reality,!! He is primarily concerned with his career and making money. My sister has filed for a divorce (which he does not want) He has said to her " We can own a huge penthouse together." Meanwhile he is entertaining a mistress. ..Typical of those dumbfucks over there in austria so haughty and proud!! So class conscious. If she did'.nt have such a good job and a son there, she would return home to Australia... They are such fuckin arseholes over there My sister gave everything she had.. Thankfully she has a great job and is doing really well . Divorce goes through on the 19th April. Woo HOO.

  10. Caz, you should celebrate by putting an aluminum hat on your cat, er, um, I mean your dog. It keeps the aliens from controlling their minds when the numbers align ;-)

  12. For those of you bereft of a suitably made hat to prevent alien abduction, please, please, please spend this weekend attending to this important matter. Easy to follow instructions & hat patterns (quite becoming, especially on those of you who may be less than comely) can be found at:

  13. Kathy - and you were a unique visitor each time! :-D

The story about your sister presents the flipside: if a person states that their priorities are a particular thing, it's best to accept that as a truth. So, anyone hoping for the occasional bit of squishy-ishy gooey romance & tenderness might be best served by not linking up with any Germans, no matter how stupendous their qualifications.

Glad to hear that your sister is doing well though.
