The price of the Federal ALP

Having endured an enormous bucketing over the price, the government made a belated attempt to ameliorate the damage caused by the fiction by announcing that from 2015 the Australian scheme would be linked to the European price.

Treasury predictions were that the price would be $29 in 2015-16. What has happened to Treasury? It did not come as a great surprise to most people to see that the European price is about $3 as of today.

  1. Less than junk bond quality.

Somebody said that but as I can't remember who I'm claiming it.

  2. O/T

A great Pat Condell rant about the Progressives (and another reason why the ALP has to toss the Australian version of this reactionary filth out of the party from grass roots before they wreck the party for all and forever)

  3. On Mumbles, today, he argued (or not; haven't read all of it yet) that NZ is more "progressive" than Australia, because their parliament has voted for 'gay marriage'.

    Hmm.

    Progressive.

  4. I think Condell is on to something. Mind you we do have a casual arrangement where I write much of his material.

There is suddenly this whole class of university educated smartarses who think they know better because they are smarter and ... just know stuff. A generation earlier they would have been from the "born to rule" class and we would have been setting them up to go to some place with prank recruitment calls from ASIO.

Really they were that dumb. It was almost a shame to waste the flour and eggs. Now they are known as Progressives.

On a thread at New Matilda a couple of weeks ago I was having this quiet exchange of abuse with a couple of very progressives one of whom outed me as News Limited hack getting dollars for comments. Cool I thought. As smears go I can live with that.

Then get this. I was then called an "unemployed bogan".

Fair dinkum. This hero of the working class called me an unemployed bogan. I could not have been happier.

    How could I respond?

I pasted three verses of the most militant version of The Internationale I could find.

No one accused you of being a hipster or a mummy blogger?

    Shame.

The progressives run out of stereotypes so quickly nowadays. Their education has let them down, badly.
