Stuff you should know about sinkholes before you're 30

Are sinkholes common?  Hmm, yes.  They're everywhere.

"Unlike hurricanes or earthquakes, sinkholes aren’t tracked. But CNN reports that from 2006 to 2010 in Florida alone, there were 24,671 insurance claims for sinkhole damage, totaling a whopping $1.4 billion."

Can we do anything to prevent sinkholes?

"It’s one of those things where they happen, and then you deal with it."
...

"A lot of the fatal ones I've seen have happened on highways, where people were driving down the road and drove right into them. A lot of people who have died in sinkholes were just standing right there when [the collapse occurred]."

A good TWOSH will do - The War On Sink Holes (or don't get sucked in).

TWOSH will fix it just like TWOT & TWOD.

Besides where would we be without TWOD, TWOT & TWOSH?

We'd be down a very deep hole, stoned out of our minds and covered in them pesky terrorists.

Remember now, don't get sucked in.

  2. I just don't know what to make of all this. I thought sink-holes were one of those things that only ever happened to ... you know ... foreigners, like meteor strikes ... and had something to do with Satan.

Now you're telling me they can attack a perfectly good Australian beach? At random? Do you have any idea what this could do to property prices?

  3. TWOD, TWOT & TWOSH?

    You've trade-marked that, iJustin, yes?

Or a perfectly good Australian bedroom, while you're snoozing, Goeffff.

Property prices? What about the sale of new mattresses?

Yeah, and I just tried to get TWOPP as well, but some Cypriot got in before me.

That would be: The War On Personal Property.

But the good news is I've got the franchise on TWOE: The War On Everything. I beat the Yanks by a nano second on that one - WOE is me.
