Not newsworthy

More than 3000 people - mostly women and children - were slaughtered in Sudan the other day.

This news rated a couple of paragraphs buried inside the local tabloid today.  Couldn't find a mention of it in The Age or The Australian.

Slaughter in Southern Sudan

7 Comments - Deranged Ilks:

  1. This is terrible news for this brand new country especially given its importance (like Israel) in standing up to to murderous Muslim imperialism.

All we can do is hope and help as best we can.

  2. George "Gallows" Galloway -- disgusting hypocrite and liar.

Australian Greens and other anti-Israel, anti-West campaigners, including notably Antony Loewenstein, routinely appear on Press-TV.

  3. Palestinians living under apartheid.

Isn't it about time that the Greens and the rest of the gutless left actually began to stick up for these people?

  4. Alas, we do nothing to "help", neither does the UN.

We - the collective - learned nothing from Rwanda, apparently. I should not be surprise. I do despair.

Re - Lebanon: come off it Geoff, you're just being provocative! How about Japan and rights of immigrant workers there, or that wonder of the world - Dubai? Or gaining residency in France, hey?

  5. I would have thought giving Palestinians a place to call home would deprive them (ie, other Arabs) of the fodder that continues to fuel the bottomless abyss of unforgivable and irrational political behavior.

As for the Greens and the left ... show me a cause that is worthy, in their smorgasbord of "urgent and meaningful stuff to do". Christ. We should all go weep.

  6. Caz, the Palestinians are not "guest workers" no matter how badly "guest workers" are treated in those or other countries. Palestinians are neither "guests" nor "workers". Guests and workers, even in Muslim countries, have rights. The Palestinians have none (except for the notable exception of Jordan where they have full citizen rights and where they form the majority of the population. Jordan, all of it, was part of the original "Palestine Mandate" afterall).

Moreover they do not, repeat do not, belong to a group distinguishable in any respect whatsoever from other Arabs, especially in Lebanon, Jordan and Syria, except for this artificial "national" construct that is the ugly bastard child of the UN, KGB and the Muslim Brotherhood and barely fifty years old.

They can have another Muslim state if they want one, they've been offered it enough times and they can call it what they like, but only idiots and liars say this is what this is about. It's about eradicating Israel because Israel is not a Muslim state. They'd feel the same whey if Israel was "Christian" or "atheist" or whatever. Being secular and "Western" is enough the earn the undying hatred of many of these people, especially the MB.

But ultimately it's about robbing Jews of their land and property, and their lives ; it's always been about that. It is the achievement of the Western left that they have refined this tiny slice of property as "Arab" or "Palestinian" or "Muslim". Anything but Israeli or Jewish. They have redefined this tiny but tough bullwark against the most ruthless totalitarian and aggressive imperialism of our age as an "imperialist venture". They have had to suspend truth and history to do that.

That is why I despise them so.

  7. And yes, in the nasty cesspit of Middle East politics, an enemy is essential for many groups in the Muslim countries to gain and hold power. They seek to rule by hate. Do not forget that the Muslims kill many many many times more Muslims than they do anybody else no matter how many Christians and Jews they slaughter. Also we should not forget there are more Christian Copts in Egypt than there are Israelis and Palestinians together. Their numbers might protect them for now but these people too are at risk.
