Lucky to be an Australian II

40 years in the making?!
Close personal security staff nearly drop their employee - the PM

‘‘We were peacefully celebrating the 40th anniversary of the aboriginal tent embassy. The opposition leader on national television made a comment to tear down something that have built over 40 years, which is sacred to us,’’ he said.

‘‘So what do you expect us to do when we're 200 yards away from the person that makes that comment? Do you expect us to say, ‘yeah Tony we're gonna do that now? We're gonna rip it down?’’’

"He said the Aboriginal embassy had to go, we heard it on a radio broadcast. We thought no way, so we circled around the building,"

"You've got 1000 people here peacefully protesting and to make a statement about tearing down the embassy - it's just madness on the part of Tony Abbott," Mr Anderson said.

"What he said amounts to inciting racial riots."
No, it doesn't.

Gillard and Abbott removed from circle of protesters - Australia Day

2 Comments - Deranged Ilks:

  1. Yes, a whole bunch of friends on facebook are going on about this being a 'provocation' on Abbott's part. Bizarre.

  2. An embarrassing number of people commenting online have also determined that the police (read: close personal protection team to the PM) "over reacted".

    Fooking unbelievable.

I think they must have watched different footage to that which I've seen many times over.

Anderson - what a cock of a man.

    Abbott a racist?

He has lived with Aboriginals and taught them in the outback - not something that will ever win him votes; he supported a "sorry"; he admires and is a friend to Noel Pearson.

Abbott is a dick from time to time, and goodness knows a loose canon, but the man is no racist. Every Aboriginal person knows that, and if not, they're speaking from ignorance, so should keep their counsel until more information is available.

I am dismayed at many of the comments from the public these last two days.

This is acceptable, in our country, from any group?

Our civic and political landscape is distressingly barren, but the public is seemingly preparing to go full-retard.

This, not the boats, is going to play out and be a defining event for the next few years. I don't know how, I don't know who will be the winners or losers, but there will be blow back, and it will have a very long tail.

    Another post is pending!!
