    Actually, to be strictly accurate I did not verify it to be a duck. I verified it to be a Kingscliff duck.

    Indeed this is a juvenile quetzalcoatlus, as Justin correctly identified, thought to be extinct in the rest of Australia and the world, but as you can see not around here.

    These things are harder to photograph than you might think. You've got to sneak up slowly and get the shot quickly. Before they have a chance to ring their mothers.
