Good fucking grief

Pauline Hanson is still in the lead and looking horribly, horribly, horribly as though she will win a senate seat in the next NSW parliament.

We should know tomorrow.

As much as I'm 100% sure that most of our current crop of pollies are inadequate, and far too many of them have been in-bred for politics, at least most of them had that explicit goal - a seat in parliament wasn't their last resort for moving out of the unemployment queue, or in Hanson's case (and yes, I'm going to say this out loud), running for a seat in the hope of getting enough votes to clean up a few hundred thousand dollars from the taxpayers, but not quite enough votes to win a seat and then have to pretend to do something.

Hanson holds out hope for seat win

I find myself strangely unhorrified. As the racist vote goes she's about as good as we can expect.

I'm going to an anti-refugee protest by the protectionist party next Sunday. Mostly to gawk at the freaks but also to bear witness and decide whether or not they should be sued for vilification. Also might be fun to get beaten up and arrested.

  2. I do hope the weather is nice Sol. Take a picnic lunch and a thermos of something suitably soothing. And a camera, yes, take a camera for lots of fun group shots.

She didn't make it - what a pity.

  6. As horrible as the very thought is, I would have preferred Pauline Hanson to another fucking Green. At least with her there the racist mongrel vote in the LC would have been split.

  7. Missed by "that much" ...

Geoff, yes, even I would almost prefer the useless Hanson and her quivering tones to yet another useless Green.
