Robbo to the rescue!

Yeah: Geoffery Robertson to defend Assange.

Good to see our home grown human rights barrister stepping into the fray. No real surprise that he has been in touch with Assange for some time, and awfully good of Robbo to cut into his annual family holiday in Sydney.

The legal team intend, in the first instance, to fight the Swedish extradition.

It will be interesting if GR gets to cross examine the accussers in a court of law and under oath.

GR will have much to address.

  2. The comments vanishing problem continues to be weird Justin: just opened the thread in a new browser: your comment was not there; went back to emails & opened the thread from receipt of your comment in my email ... low and behold, comment appears in the thread. I've no idea what's going on!

Depends if the legal team decide to call the women as witnesses in order to fight the extradition. He might try to do it without dragging them into it. Keep the salacious bit out of it, if he can. That would be my first guess.

Either that, or he could go to the other extreme: take a prurient, excruciatingly detailed interest in the events leading to the charges, with both women on the stand for as long as he can keep them there.
