Oh, oops

A man has fallen to his death in New York after backing into a lift, carrying one end of a bed, as he was moving into an apartment. His wife was carrying the other end of the bed and could do nothing as her husband fell into what turned out to be an empty lift shaft.

In his day job, the 35 year old worked as a lift repairman.

  2. Yes Kath, go bloody figure.

And what is it with people's surname's and the jobs they go into?

    Weird & freaky.

Working in a guy in our office at the moment with the surname "Purchase", he's a technical writer. Keep wanting to tell him to move into a procurement job. Yeah, I know: I have a very, very small imagination, with tee wee disposable thoughts. Hee hee.

  6. Hi Snaps - yep, my place was fine, and I was, by chance, not good planning, at home and safe when the 'extreme weather event' arrived. I'd only been home a short while, had been outside in sweltering heat not long before the storm.

A skylight at my Mum's place crashed in, although fortunately, in many regards, it was a bathroom skylight, so at least glass and rain were confined to a small area, and nothing internal was flooded, since rain just went straight into the bath. Small blessing, hey?

Thanks for asking, that's kind of you.
