I can't understand why a person will take a year to write a novel when he can easily buy one for a few dollars.

  2. Ah, that was not a prolonged typo, was it Kath?

You're assuming the novel will sell!

  3. I'm assuming the person writing it thinks it will sell. Lol.

  4. Obviously Fred was not a person driven to write.

  5. It seems a little ironic. He had to write it down for us to read it. Maybe he even got paid for it...

I once took a year not to write a novel - it was a great year - I think - it was back in the seventies whenever the seventies was.

  7. Ah crap.

Wish I'd thought of that as a line to use at parties: "oh, darling, I'm in the middle of not writing my fourth novel; I took several years off from the drudgery of everyday work not to write my first novel back in the '70s".
